According to reports, Unilever and McCormick are in talks to combine their food businesses.

Unilever is in talks to spin off its food business and merge it with spice maker McCormick in an all-stock deal that could be finalized within weeks, the Wall Street Journal reported.

As reported by Bloomberg News earlier this week, Unilever, the maker of Dove soap, is
considering a broader spin-off of its food assets, as consumer goods companies face weaker demand for packaged foods amid economic uncertainty.

The FT reported on Wednesday that Unilever and Kraft Heinz had recently held talks about a possible merger of parts of their food businesses, but the talks have ended.
