Due to lower finance expenses and increased operating revenue, America Movil reported a 25.1% increase in first-quarter profitability.

The Carlos Slim family owns the company, which declared a 23.4 billion peso net profit.

The quarter’s revenue increased 2.1% to 236.84 billion pesos, above LSEG’s projection of $13.19 billion. EBITDA was 95 billion pesos.

Despite losing 90,000 prepaid customers, the corporation gained 3 million postpaid mobile clients.

With 1.3 million new users, Brazil led the postpaid subscriber growth.

594,000 additional broadband connections were added by America Móvil, with 175,000 coming from Mexico and 115,000 from Brazil.

Through March, the Mexican peso appreciated by almost 12%, which decreased international profits when translated to local currency.
