FIFA revealed on Thursday that the soccer video game «FIFA World Cup: Launch Edition» will debut on Netflix Games on June 11, the day the World Cup begins.

As FIFA looks to increase fan involvement through its redesigned digital strategy, the game will only be accessible to Netflix users at no additional cost.

The game, which was created in partnership with Netflix Games and Delphi Interactive. Is intended to be an accessible soccer simulation that lets users participate in the competition.

The World Cup will feature 16 stadiums with over 1,200 players, and players will be able to select from the 48 national teams competing.

FIFA emphasized that up to four players can play together in this format. Which employs cellphones as controllers and enables users to connect to a TV by scanning a QR code.

Following the termination of its long-standing agreement with EA Sports, FIFA said that the launch is a part of a larger change in its approach to video games. Moving instead toward a multi-partner ecosystem intended to increase its reach across platforms and audiences.

Mexico and South Africa play at Azteca Stadium on June 11 to kick off the World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
