Aeromexico’s Boeing 737 aircraft overhaul has affected 19,135 passengers
Profeco said that in view of the cancellation of Aeromexico flights due to the inspection, it remains vigilant to ensure compliance with the applicable protection measures for passengers.
More than 19,000 passengers were impacted by the cancellation of 131 Aeromexico flights as a result of the examination of Boeing 737 Max-9 aircraft, which was prompted by an incident that occurred during flight in the United States, according to the Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco).
In a statement, Profeco stated that it is still monitoring adherence to the relevant safety precautions for ticketed passengers on routes serviced by these kinds of aircraft, given the cancelation of Aeromexico flights as a result of the inspection
Following the incident, the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) ordered an immediate grounding of all Boeing 737 Max 9 aircraft after one of the aircraft, operated by Alaska Airlines, lost part of its fuselage in mid-flight last Friday.
The Attorney General’s Office recalled that the U.S. aeronautical authorities and the manufacturer Boeing «are currently inspecting the B737 MAX-9 aircraft to avoid a new incident».
