Tesla’s quarterly earnings dropped 71%, and Musk distanced himself from DOGE

Elon Musk Donald Trump tesla

This has been Elon Musk‘s most anticipated—and most likely dreaded—quarter at Tesla. which, in a cruel turn of events, falls on the last day of Donald Trump’s first 100 days in office. The New York magnate, who was intrigued by Musk’s track record of resource optimization, appointed him to lead the Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, which quickly turned into the head-cutting organization that many dreaded.

The richest guy in the world didn’t appear to mind this position at all, based on the manner he used the chainsaw that Argentine President Milei had given him—jumping back and forth. This role has damaged the reputation of the world’s richest man, who transformed into an entrepreneur, thanks to the new White House tenant’s ungreen policies.

The brunt has fallen on Tesla, which has been the target of numerous vandalism incidents (including in Italy) and boycott campaigns. Trump has attempted to stifle these reactions in an impolite way, even by sending out messages about its questionable utility, such as when he had an electric car delivered to the presidential residence’s gates.
