Honda ends electric vehicle production in Mexico

Honda will end sales of its electric vehicles (EVs) in the United States, the latest move by a major automaker in response to weak market demand, according to a Bloomberg report.

The Japanese automaker informed U.S. dealerships that production of the Honda Prologue, a model manufactured in Mexico and co-developed with General Motors (GM), will cease at the end of this year.

Sales will be discontinued starting with the 2026 model year due to low demand, and the company will focus on offering hybrid (gasoline-electric) and traditional internal combustion engine (ICE) models in the United States.According to a Bloomberg story, Honda will stop selling electric vehicles (EVs) in the US. This is the latest action taken by a major carmaker in reaction to low market demand.

The Honda Prologue, a model co-developed with General Motors (GM) and produced in Mexico, will no longer be produced at the end of this year, the Japanese manufacturer told U.S. dealerships.

Due to poor demand, sales will end with the 2026 model year, and the firm will concentrate on providing both conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) and hybrid (gasoline-electric) vehicles in the US.
