LeBron effect: 76ers preseason game becomes 142% more expensive

Following LeBron James’ signing, ticket prices for the Philadelphia 76ers’ home preseason opener have surged, far above the average cost of a 76ers home regular season game in 2025, according to TickPick, a ticket resale company.

According to TickPick, a ticket for James’ home preseason debut against the Boston Celtics on October 16 costs $165 on the secondary market, which is 142% higher than the average public purchase price ($68) for 76ers home regular season games in the 2025–26 season.

For the preseason game, a number of non-premium tickets have gone up to $589 on TickPick.

Tickets for the great majority of October’s preseason games involving clubs other than the 76ers are far under $100, with some games selling for as little as $30.

The NBA is anticipated to announce its 2026–27 regular season schedule in the middle of August, according to The Athletic.

Brett Goldberg, co-CEO of TickPick, told Forbes via email that it’s reasonable to assume that the average cost of tickets for 76ers home games this season will be 40% more than it was last season.
