FIFA’s investment plan is rejected by UEFA

Hours after expressing fury over FIFA’s intentions to sell a minority stake in the tournament to private investors. UEFA, the European football governing body, is reportedly considering boycotting future FIFA tournaments, including the World Cup, according to media reports on Tuesday.
FIFA intends to raise almost $4.2 billion by 2026 by selling a 20% minority ownership in a new company, estimated at $20 billion. A transaction first revealed by The Times and the Financial Times.
In a statement released on Tuesday morning, FIFA confirmed the intentions. Stating that the new business would be known as FIFA Forward Enterprise and would oversee the non-profit’s «commercial and events operations.»
The organization claims that if the deal is approved, $20 million will be given to each of FIFA’s 211 member federations, and member financing will rise year until 2038.
FIFA declared that it will continue to be the major owner of the new company and will continue to have authority over governance and regulatory decisions.Also as competition and match scheduling.
