Mexico is securely seated on the throne of car parts sales to the United States
Mexico beat competitors such as Canada, which nearly equaled it in supply; from 2007 to the present, no country has overtaken it in increase in supply to the US automobile sector.
Mexico has established itself as the king in the supply of auto components to US automakers throughout the years, and has kept its throne in this highly active market in the manufacturing and consumption of autos.
In 2007, Canada supplied 20.44% of the parts necessary by US automakers, trailing Mexico’s 29.82%, but today Mexico contributes up to 42.93% of the parts required by US automakers, while Canada, still in second position, supplies only 10.74%.
During a press conference, he explained that from 2007 to 2013, Mexico increased its supply of car parts to the United States by 4 percentage points, but by 2018, the increase had risen to more than 8 percentage points.
Finally, growth in 2023 has been greater than 13 percentage points higher than in 2007.
Mexico exported 61,087 million dollars in auto parts to the United States between January and August alone.
