In the first quarter of this year, Ford’s sales decreased by 8.8%

Due to a drop in SUV and pickup truck deliveries, Ford Group sales in the United States dropped 8.8% year over year to 457,315 vehicles, according to the carmaker.
Pickup vehicle sales plummeted 11.3% to 257,475 units, while SUV sales declined 7.8% to 185,766 units. In the meantime, demand for passenger automobiles increased by 50.1% to 14,074 units.
According to Ford, its F-Series trucks continue to be the best-selling models in the US and are expected to hold the title for 50 years in a row.
Additionally, the business stated that its «strategic shift toward high-margin SUVs,» such the Expedition and Explorer models, while overseeing the phase-out of cars like the Ford Escape and the Lincoln Corsair, is the reason for the drop in SUV sales.
