Abertis plans to invest 1,200 million euros in Mexican road

The international road manager Abertis announced this Friday an agreement with the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) of Mexico to invest 1.2 billion euros in four years, between 2026 and 2029, to improve the country’s road infrastructure.

The improvement plan will be executed by Red de Carreteras de Occidente (RCO), one of the main highway operators in Mexico, in which Abertis participates.

RCO will see the concession of the FARAC I group of roads extended until 2067, Abertis explained in a statement.

This Friday, Abertis, an international road manager, struck a deal with Mexico’s Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) to invest 1.2 billion euros over four years, from 2026 to 2029, to upgrade the nation’s road system.

Abertis is a member of Red de Carreteras de Occidente (RCO), one of Mexico’s major highway operators, which will carry out the renovation plan.

According to a statement from Abertis, RCO will see the concession of the FARAC I group of roads extended until 2067.
