When Ferrari introduces its first electric vehicle, its stock falls more than sixteen percent

Ferrari, a sports car company, introduced the technology that will drive the Elettrica, their much awaited first electric vehicle. The 78-year-old Italian carmaker wants to add battery power to its lineup of combustion-engine and hybrid vehicles.
During a highly secret event at its Maranello headquarters, the production-ready chassis of the Elettrica—a vehicle base with an electric motor and battery pack but no wheels or external bodywork—was unveiled on stage when a red cover featuring the iconic Ferrari livery was removed.
The completed vehicle, which Ferrari intends to unveil for a global premiere next year, will have a minimum range of 530 kilometers and a top speed of 310 kilometers per hour, which is marginally slower than the majority of its combustion-engine models.
Similar to other high-performance automakers, Ferrari has been hesitant to electrify its cars. Due to little demand, the business postponed the release of its second electric model until 2028 in June.
